Mojo Monday #435 – It’s My Party Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

A new week has gone and that means it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge!

Julee over at Mojo created a fun panel sketch for us to play with. You should play along too and use up some of your stash! 😉 If you haven’t played in challenges before and you’re not sure what to do, just send me an email and I’ll help you through it! They are fun and sometimes there’s even a contest to win prizes! 🙂

I used the It’s My Party design paper stack for this card. This paper pad is such a great deal! You get 48 – 12″x 12″ sheets of design paper for $26.00. That’s only $0.54/sheet! You need this paper, it’s so cute and has some great designs! Plus there is a whole slough of It’s My Party products to coordinate with this lovely paper.

PhotoGrid_1455814681491

I made this card for my awesome husband. He’ll only be 33 in a couple weeks! (wish I was still in my 30’s!) Maybe then I’d have enough energy to chase my toddlers around lol!

I used the Party with Cake clear mount stamp set for this card and the Number of Years bundle (has stamp set and framelits!). The panels of design paper are cut at 2″ x 4″. The center Mint Macaron square is 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″. The Whisper White square is 3″ x 3-1/4″.  I also used a hint of the  clear Wink of Stella on the numbers, can you see the shimmer below? I just LOVE this stuff!

The ink pads I used for stamping:

  • Basic Black Archival
  • Melon Mambo
  • Mint Macaron
  • Crushed Curry

Stampin Up Party with Cake – Birthday or Celebration Card

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to share this quick card I made using the Party with Cake and Timeless Textures stamp sets. My inspiration for this card was in the Occasions catalog on page 3! I love using the beautiful designs by Stampin Up and then modifying them how I like.

Ok, I cannot say how much I love this Timeless Textures stamp set. You need it. It’s super versatile and makes the coolest images. You can make your own background, decorate a box, make “coffee under your cup table stains”, rain, snow, or even confetti like I did here! Plus way more fun designs! tmp_2375-PhotoGrid_1454778769414-1174672854

I love how the washi tape almost looks like design paper here. I cut the whisper white to 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ so you could really see the edges. After I stamped and embellished how I wanted it, I used dimensionals to pop it up. I also used a white card base cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored down the middle.

The It’s My Party enamel dots are SO so cute! Love! I love to put them on like confetti! Such a sweet pop of color! I stapled on my twine using our mini stapler.

You can purchase any of the products shown from my online store HERE. Some of my favorites are the Timeless Textures stamp set, the It’s my Party Washi Tape and the It’s My Party enamel dots. Oh, can’t forget the Party with Cake stamp set too!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Stampin Up Team Color Challenge – Timeless Textures

Hi Everyone!

This is a card that I created for my upline’s bi-weekly challenge. I participate in her challenge every two weeks on our Team’s Facebook page. Being a part of this awesome group is just one of the perks of being a Demonstrator! My inspiration for this card was from Paula Dobson’s card I found on Pinterest. Pinterest is such a great, quick reference to get so many ideas for cards and projects. You can follow my Pinterest board HERE!

This is last week’s challenge as I am a bit behind posting it. I love how we have 2 weeks to work on the challenge. I just counted and I’m up to 3 challenges per week plus this one! I hope to add more but we’ll see how I do with all of these first!

For this challenge it was a color theme using Blackberry Bliss, Delightful Dijon and Mossy Meadow. This combo was sort of weird for me…I guess I was looking for some design paper to go with it! I found some in the Going Places Design Paper stack but the colors of the paper were just 2 of these and it was a swirly looking design. Cute, but I had no idea what to make. I decided to use the Timeless Textures stamps and create kind of a collage of images. I love this look! You could even do a distressed look and rough up the edges of the paper.

I didn’t win this week but maybe with the next challenge which is a sketch challenge, actually using the Mojo Monday 433 sketch (which I already did!). Here is a close look at this card. I focused in on the Celebrate since I used the gold Wink of Stella. Love the subtle, sparkly look it adds!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCCCS181 – Number of Years & Valentine’s Day

Hi Everyone!

So I’m finally participating in the challenge over at the Paper Craft Crew!  Pam, aren’t you proud of me?? My hope is to be a regular participant! Pam Staples and I go way back…well back to 2011, where we first met. We were roomies for my first Stampin’ Up! Convention year, which was such a great one. (had a little drama at the house we rented from another roommate, but we all survived! ha!)  Overall it was a great experience! That’s what I’ll always remember. We’ve been Facebook friends ever since! 🙂

This was such a cute sketch that we had to play with. I had to make an Anniversary card for my sweet friend Dixie, who’s been married 33 years today! She is the sweetest little lady and makes beautiful hand-knit items. If you need a special hand-knit gift, she’s your lady! Check out her site HERE. (I’m working on her website – trying to make it better, still in the works!)

pcccs-161-204-006-e14550763255681

I love this stamp set Number of Years and the matching Large Number framelits. Even though my framelits are on backorder and still in the mail! You can’t really tell I “fussy” cut the 3’s can you?? Ugh, such a pain lol. I’ll be making more birthday and anniversary cards when I get the framelits! 😉 I just love this color combo though…and thanks for the great sketch Pam!

PhotoGrid_1455490620994

Happy Valentine’s Day too! It’s funny how the dynamics of a relationship change. Now instead of a quiet, romantic dinner for two, it ended up being a loud, fast paced spaghetti dinner for 4! It was great and fun spending the time with my loves…just not your typical V-day dinner. Even though we had a cartoon on in the car on the way, my son still fell asleep! (He’d gone all day without a nap) So when we got there my husband carried him in and he was a little cranky. He perked up though, especially after the offer of a little Sprite.

And of course I had to include a picture of THIS face….and a little selfie action. Not sure why my husband didn’t get the wear pink or red memo…

Thanks for stopping by! And Happy Valentine’s Day!

Mojo Monday 434 – The Open Sea, A Nautical Retirement Card

Hi Everyone!

I just LOVED this sketch and playing along over at Mojo Monday this week! I feel like my creative “Mojo” was flowing with this card! 🙂

Just the elements on this sketch went along perfectly with the stamp set The Open Sea. So here is the Mojo Monday #434 sketch.

Mojo434

I was excited to see that the circles went perfectly with the 1 globe stamp in the set. If you like this set you will LOVE the stamp set called Going Global HERE. It has a similar theme but it comes with some GREAT sentiments and matches so nicely with the Going Places DSP.

PhotoGrid_1455412326247

I’m loving this new Design Paper Stack, Going Places. It has some great neutral colors like Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow. For this card I used the “blueprint” style paper in Lost Lagoon. I love the Very Vanilla thick baker’s twine, it looks like rope! I thought it added the perfect embellishment to my nautical themed card. I’m also glad that Teeny Tiny Wishes comes with a Happy Retirement stamp. Can’t believe I used it twice this year already! This is a great set of 26 versatile sentiments! If you don’t own it, I highly recommend it! 🙂

I also stamped some of the images in Tip Top Taupe on the Very Vanilla because I didn’t see any DSP’s with these colors and I wanted a light background. It came out perfectly! Love how Stampin’ Up makes it easy to create our own matching design paper when we need it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Leave some love 🙂

Can You Case It Challenge #106

Here’s a card for the challenge over at Can You Case It? This is my first time playing along with this challenge!

First, here is the sketch!

cyci106-232x300

I squeaked by for this challenge…literally posting my card about 5 minutes until Noon! I also made this card in 30 minutes with 2 toddlers trampling all over my workspace/self/craft room. It was hilarious…but I really wanted to participate in this challenge! (The things we’ll do in the name of crafting….)

tmp_3203-PhotoGrid_1455306681438-1627799823

For this card I used the beautiful Botanical Gardens Design Paper. Such bold and striking colors! This features Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze and Hello Honey to name a few.

I used the Flower Patch stamp set and the matching framelits, Flower Fair. These flowers are cheery and fun! This is a great bundle to get…remember if you get the photopolymer stamps and the framelits you save 15%! (see below)

Hope you enjoyed my card, here’s what I used to make it:

Mini Treat Bag – It’s My Party, Sale-A-Bration

tmp_3532-PhotoGrid_1454797664406-1174672854

Hi Guys!

#1 – I just LOVE the mini treat bag from Stampin’ Up!….#2, I love making treats for my friends and loved ones!

This die is perfect for just that. I can’t wait to use it to make cute treat bags for my kid’s school parties too. Oh, and their birthday party favors! I can see getting use out of this product for years to come! 🙂

Here is a sweet little treat bag I designed for my class using just the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits!  I love the colors of the It’s My Party Design Paper…so bright and cheery! There’s Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Basic Black and Mint Macaron, to name a few. I created a card first at 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ using Whisper White. Then I added some DSP at 3″ x 4-1/2″. I punched a scalloped tag topper using Melon Mambo and finished it with a washi tape covered clothespin and baker’s twine. I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day using Teeny Tiny Wishes.

tmp_3532-20160206_1129171188815832

Then I made the cutest little treat bag using the Mini Treat Bag die and the Botanical Gardens Designer vellum stack (Sale-A-Bration Item!) I found out that using vellum is tricky with the Big Shot…but here is how I set up my “sandwich”:

  1. Magnetic Platform
  2. Vellum
  3. Mini Treat Bag Thinlit die
  4. 2 sheets of printer paper or grid paper (cut down to fit through the BigShot)
  5. Cutting plate

It MAY be different for you because of the different calibrations of all the BigShots. This is because we all use them with different sized dies and the number of times used makes a difference! Just try to troubleshoot and you’ll come up with what works for your own machine. The first time I tried it using a different “sandwich” I didn’t have “creases” but instead the thinlit cut all the way through.

After I put together my treat bag using Fast Fuse (I find this is great for vellum!), I cut out some banners to adhere to the front of my bag. I used the It’s My Party DSP Stack. You get 48 sheets of this paper! Such a great deal! Here are the sizes of the 3 banners:

  1. 2″ x 3″
  2. 2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″
  3. 2″ x 3/4″

Then I added a Blushing Bride Glimmer paper heart using the elements that come from the treat bag thinlits, a strip of hearts using Basic Black cardstock and a cute little wire bow embellishment! Perfect for dessing up this little bag. I know it’s a little “fancy”, but that’s what I was going for 😉  Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to follow my blog to see future projects and video tutorials!

Minnie Mouse Turning One Card -Number of Years & Large Framelits

I made this sweet Minnie Mouse birthday card for my friends daughter that just turned one. They LOVE Disney! Our circle punches are perfect for making any size Minnie or Mickey!

I used the Number of Years stamp set from the Occasions catalog. Finally a good sized, easy to use number set. 🙂 The framelits match and if you purchase as a bundle you save 15%! (Just like Geico! Lol)…but everyone knows that. 😉

tmp_19533-PhotoGrid_1454520833619-53800659

The design paper is retired but I needed something with polka dots and this Halloween paper from last year was perfect! (Happy Haunting)

I made the bow with the mini heart punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and finished it with a pearl. I love how simple and sweet this card is!

Mojo Monday Sale-A-Bration Card -Going Global, Perfect Pairings & Cupcakes!

Okay….so I must have been VERY tired when I wrote this post! Hahaha….Crazy me, I posted the wrong card and even linked it to the Mojo Monday sketch! So, yes, wrong card and wrong layout posted to the Mojo Monday 433 Challenge. So, number 118 posted on the Mojo Challenge should be THIS card right here! I used the World Traveler embossing folder too, so cute for a pop of texture, but I think that would also make a great background! The paper is the Going Places Design Paper 6 x 6 pad, you get 4 each of 12 double sided designs! So many designs for some great card making or crafting! The “Seriously” and the “Son” stamp came from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. I love how I get so many stamps in my kit and now I have lots of stamps to choose from when I need just the right greeting!

Here is the Mojo Monday Contest Sketch #433 for the week of February 1st! This is such a simple and cute sketch.

I figured it out! The card below is actually for the Mojo Monday 431 sketch, not 433. I was late and missed the posting time for this and obviously forgot lol!

I decided to use the Sale-A-Bration set Perfect Pairings for this card. I stamped it with Happy Day to You on the front and then the Happy Birthday on the inside. I love this Cherry on Top designer paper, it’s so sweet and also versatile! (Not just for birthdays – but aren’t these ice-creams & cupcakes cute??)

mojo431

I used the cute little cupcake punch for this and punched the top and bottom of the cupcake. I also punched out a little cherry. Then I put it together and topped it with some Crystal Effects (gives it that glossy & raised look), which I need to use more! Love!

This set is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set so remember, just spend $50 before tax and shipping and you can get it for free!

And speaking of birthdays…here is my sweet, darling daughter on her 2nd birthday from a couple weeks ago!! She loves Frozen as you can see. I can’t believe how big she is! Where is the time going…..

Sale-A-Bration Card with Botanicals For You & More!

Ok, so I’ve realized that I haven’t been posting my cards even though I’ve been making them like crazy. Between my card class, challenges and sending friends cards, I’ve been designing a lot! So….this is a catch up post 😉 Here’s what I’ve been working on!

I love this Sale-A-Bration stamp set Botanicals For You. There’s so much versatility in it and I’ve seen a lot of cute things, but this card is a sample in the Sale-A-Bration catalog that I tweaked a little. I just added the banner with baker’s twine and the tiny butterfly (using our punch). PhotoGrid_1452245675204

Here are 2 more cards I created using this sketch for my upline’s challenge in our Facebook group. I had a difficult time with this sketch for some reason, so I turned it and then the inspiration came! It reminded me of a quote from Big Hero 6…”just gotta look at things from a different angle sometimes!” 😉 I had two design ideas for it so I ran with it.

I used the What I Love stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Love the 3-step stamping in this set AND it is photopolymer! So easy to see what you are stamping!
