Here’s a card for the challenge over at Can You Case It? This is my first time playing along with this challenge!
First, here is the sketch!
I squeaked by for this challenge…literally posting my card about 5 minutes until Noon! I also made this card in 30 minutes with 2 toddlers trampling all over my workspace/self/craft room. It was hilarious…but I really wanted to participate in this challenge! (The things we’ll do in the name of crafting….)
For this card I used the beautiful Botanical Gardens Design Paper. Such bold and striking colors! This features Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze and Hello Honey to name a few.
I used the Flower Patch stamp set and the matching framelits, Flower Fair. These flowers are cheery and fun! This is a great bundle to get…remember if you get the photopolymer stamps and the framelits you save 15%! (see below)
Hope you enjoyed my card, here’s what I used to make it:
Well, that weekend went by super fast. 😦 I love those long holiday weekends, playing in the pool with the kiddos, having a BBQ (or going to one in our case), cold beer, spending time with family. My mother in law came to visit this weekend. She is so sweet, she brought me some jewelry. She loves to find great pieces at consignment/resale stores and sometimes she gives me her own pieces. It’s just a thing she does and I think it’s so special. This weekend I got to work on her wedding invites for her wedding in October! So fun! (I would not have her use store bought ones) 😉
Besides that, I was working on some tutorial videos which I will talk about here but also share in another post. Very fun stuff! But here is the card sketch for over at the Mojo Monday blog….
I had lots of ideas for this card….here is something coming together…I just love the Flower Patch stamp set with matching Framelits! I didn’t end up using the Blackberry Bliss. It seemed to dark to me as this was for a sympathy card.
And here is my finished card. I used Mint Macaron for my base. (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ size A2 card) I also used the Butterflies Thinlits. The Fine-Tip Glue pen works great for these types of die cuts. Check out my video HERE on how to use the Fine-Tip glue! I share a cute Halloween Anti-Bac holder in the video! Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
On Saturday my family and I said goodbye to my Aunt Linda. She was my mother’s cousin and they were very close having grown up together and even had their wedding anniversaries only 3 years apart. Their children very close in age. She was my “Auntie” out of respect and love. It came as quite a shock when I found out she had terminal liver cancer only a few short weeks ago. Then we found out she passed away August 1st.

Everything happened so quick. We are still in shock. I’m so saddened that we lost her too soon. She had so much life left to live. I made a card for the family using the Flower Patch stamp set and the Flower Fair framelits.
“For the Family”
While at the funeral reception I had the pleasure to finally meet Laura Vegas! Crazy small world that she is part of our extended family! It was neat to talk to her and ask her about her latest scrapbooking and designing adventures! Even though I felt silly I had to ask for a picture with her. After all, she is family 😉 We had a lovely chat with her, me and my sister, Caroline. We are both eager to get our blogs off the ground and she had some great insight! I’ll be following her blog for sure for lots of inspiration.

Even though it was a very sad day, it brought family closer together. It made me also start thinking. What if tomorrow was my last day here? Would I be ready? Would my family and children know how much I love them? I decided I must write letters to my children and my husband as soon as possible and tuck them away. Yes it is sad to think about it, but no one knows the hour that their time will come.
On the way home we had to stop at our old family favorite, King Eggroll. We used to frequent the Berryessa location in San Jose many an occasion for dim sum and eggrolls. If you live in the Bay Area and you have never had a King Eggroll, stop what you are doing and head there now. 😉 You’ll thank me. We got the usual dumplings (dim sum) and decided to take a fun family selfie because my parents and us siblings are hardly ever together with no spouses or kids!
My Family
Here’s to my Aunt Linda and to anyone else that has lost someone….
It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh, I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again When I see you again
Why’d you have to leave so soon? Why’d you have to go? Why’d you have to leave me when I needed you the most? ‘Cause I don’t really know how to tell you Without feeling much worse I know you’re in a better place But it’s always gonna hurt Carry on Give me all the strength I need to carry on It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh, I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again When I see you again How do I breathe without you I’m feeling so cold I’ll be waiting right here for you Till the day you’re home Carry on Give me all the strength I need to carry on So let the light guide your way Hold every memory as you go And every road you take will always lead you home It’s been a long day without you my friend And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again We’ve come a long way from where we began Oh, I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again When I see you again
